Building Better Learning Spaces in Bajiran: Construction Progress
Construction of two new early childhood classrooms at Al Huda Islamic School in Bajiran is progressing ahead of the new school year. With structural works underway, the Foundation is also moving forward with roofing, furniture, doors, and windows to help prepare the classrooms for use.
Work is progressing on the Fuladu Foundation’s classroom project at Al Huda Islamic School in Bajiran, where two new Early Childhood Development classrooms are being developed to respond to a longstanding shortage of adequate learning space for the school’s youngest pupils.
Construction of the first classroom began on 1 August 2026. During August, masonry works advanced through wall raising, structural works, and hallway construction. By early September, the project had moved into the roofing stage, while work on the second classroom was also progressing.
In parallel, the Foundation is preparing the classrooms for use. The project currently provides for 50 school benches for the two classrooms, together with two doors and eight windows. These elements are intended to help ensure that the new spaces are not only constructed, but functional, secure and suitable for children and teachers.
The need for the classrooms is particularly urgent. During the previous school year, insufficient classroom space meant that some classes had to be combined, while children also learned in makeshift or overcrowded spaces. In some cases, pupils did not have adequate desks or enough space to sit and study comfortably. These conditions were challenging for children and for teachers trying to manage large groups and provide an effective learning environment.

Construction has advanced significantly, but our goal is not simply to complete two buildings. It is to ensure that children who previously learned in overcrowded or makeshift conditions have classrooms where they can sit properly, see clearly, feel secure and focus on learning. Resources are still needed for furniture, doors and windows, finishing works, lighting, teaching and learning materials and final classroom preparation.
