Fuladu Foundation, in consultation with the community

2026

Project Overview

Kesser Kunda’s remote location limits children’s access to formal schooling. The village madrasa provides religious instruction to children in the community, but learning conditions remain modest and resources are limited.

During consultations, residents identified the need to improve the conditions in which children learn. Priorities include a more suitable learning space, access to Qur’an copies and other basic learning materials, and, over the longer term, improved access to formal education within the village.

The Fuladu Foundation is discussing with the community how best to support the madrasa while also considering longer-term options for expanding access to education in Kesser Kunda.

Potential Areas of Support

  • Improvement of the existing madrasa learning space;
  • Provision of Qur’an copies and basic learning materials;
  • Support for safer and more suitable learning conditions;
  • Exploration of longer-term options to improve access to formal education in the village;
  • Community participation in defining and developing future education initiatives.

Project Status

The initiative is currently under consultation with the community. The immediate needs of the madrasa have been identified, while the scope and feasibility of broader education support are still being explored.

Expected Community Benefit

Improving the madrasa would provide children with a more suitable environment in which to learn and strengthen access to basic educational resources within the village.

In the longer term, the Foundation hopes to work with the community to explore wider opportunities for children in Kesser Kunda to access education closer to home.
