Kesser Kunda Village Programme
The Fuladu Foundation works alongside the residents of Kesser Kunda to support community-led initiatives that improve living conditions, strengthen local resilience, and preserve the village’s cultural and historical heritage.
The programme began with the Kesser Kunda Village Borehole, completed and operational since March 2026, improving access to clean water for the community. Building on this first achievement, the Foundation is working with residents on further priorities, including improvements to the mosque area, better conditions for children’s learning, and opportunities linked to sustainable livelihoods and agriculture.
Kesser Kunda also holds particular historical significance as the resting place of King Musa Molloh Baldeh, the last king of Fuladu. The programme therefore brings together practical community development and the preservation of a heritage that remains important to the identity of the village.
Community Priorities
Through continued dialogue with residents and village leaders, several priorities have been identified for Kesser Kunda. Some have already moved into implementation, while others are being developed progressively with the community.
These include water access, improvements to the mosque area, education, sustainable livelihoods and agriculture, as well as the preservation of the village’s cultural and historical heritage.
Kesser Kunda Village Borehole
Completed and operational since March 2026, the solar-powered borehole provides the community with more reliable access to clean water.
Mosque & Community Mortuary
The Foundation is working with the community on plans for a dedicated women’s prayer space, a modest community mortuary, and fencing around the mosque area.
Kesser Kunda Village Madrasa
Improving learning conditions for children attending the village madrasa is an identified community priority. Future support will be developed with residents and local leaders.
Women’s Farming & Livelihoods
Women’s agriculture has been identified as an area for future livelihood support, with opportunities to strengthen access to productive activities and household income.
Programme Impact and Priorities
The Kesser Kunda Village Programme has already delivered a concrete improvement through the completed and operational community borehole, which has strengthened access to clean water for residents.
Building on this first achievement, the Foundation is working with the community on further priorities, including improvements to the mosque area, better learning conditions for children attending the village madrasa, and opportunities to strengthen women’s livelihoods through agriculture.
The programme also seeks to preserve Kesser Kunda’s historical and cultural heritage, ensuring that future initiatives respond to local needs while respecting the identity and legacy of the village.
