Project Overview
Access to safe and reliable water is essential for the health and well-being of rural communities. During consultations with residents of the Bajiran Community improved water access was identified as one of the community’s most urgent priorities.
The Fuladu Foundation supported the drilling and installation of a solar-powered borehole system designed to provide sustainable and reliable water access for households in the village.
The system includes a deep borehole, solar-powered pumping system, elevated water storage tanks, and community standpipes that allow residents to access clean water within the village.
Project Status
The borehole drilling has been successfully completed, and the solar-powered infrastructure has been installed. The system now provides reliable access to clean water for residents of the Bajiran Community.
Community Impact
The project has significantly improved daily life in the village by reducing the distance and time required to collect water. Reliable access to clean water also contributes to improved hygiene, sanitation, and overall community health.
The borehole has already allowed over 50 families in the village to gain access to clean water. In addition, around 20 families have connected their homes directly to the borehole system, allowing them to access water within their compounds.
To facilitate this expansion, the Fuladu Foundation has also funded the purchase of additional piping, which will allow remaining households to progressively connect and gain direct access to water at their homes.
